I am forwarding this on from Chris to All in Abq. and surrounding
Areas. Desi

Hello all,

I've decided to take a more active roll in getting the sand
volleyball scene in Albuquerque back on its feet. This email is the
first of many exciting updates that will come in the next few weeks.
If you are not interested in being on this email distribution list or
know others in our area that might be interested please feel free to
let me know.

I'd like to begin by telling you where we are and where we're going.
As each of you might know there's been much more interest in sand
volleyball this year than in the past five years. The problem we're
encountering is the limited court space. To combat this problem I've
had a preliminary conversation with Tavake. He is more than happy to
work with me to set-up tournament dates and times at Sneakerz Bar and
Grill. For those of you who haven't been there, Sneakerz has two
sand courts, a full sports bar, music, lights and a great
atmosphere. Anyway, I will be talking to Tavake more next weekend
about the tournament schedule and details. Once we iron out the
details I will send another update to this email.

Our initial thoughts are to run Men's and Women's doubles tournaments
throughout the summer. The tournaments could be King/Queen of the
Beach, Blind Draw or just straight doubles. Our goal is to promote a
grass roots volleyball atmosphere so the tournaments will most likely
NOT be limited to a specific level of play. There will be pool play
and then a single elimination tournament to follow. The upper
bracket will play for price money with the lower bracket winners
getting at least their entry fee back. Sneakerz possibly will have t-
shirts and other prizes for teams that don't finish in the money but
that has yet to be determined.

I hope this sounds exciting to everyone, I know I'm stoked!!! If you
have any questions or would like to provide feedback please feel free
to call or email me anytime.

Best regards,

Chris R. Hammock
