Have you ever wanted to be coached by the best players in the world while vacationing on a beautiful tropical island? Ever try to hit a ball around the best blockers in the world Phil Dalhausser and Kerri Walsh then have dinner with them and ask them about their Gold Medals? How about having a beer with Casey Jennings and Nick Lucena and ask them about their defensive techniques and how they dig everything. Ask Angela Lewis how fun it is to play on the women's tour and how she trains to get top 5 finishes? Hit nectar sets from AL-B Hannemann while Paige Davis is coaching you on your approach. Video tape Jason Ring, Anthony Medel and Matt Olson while they pound balls into the sand and then ask them how to improve your vertical jump. These are the opportunities you will have while joining new friends and these pros on the upcoming volleyball vacations trips.

We have 1 pro coach for every 5 volleyball vacationers. It is a ratio that we are very proud of. Come and see what all the hype is about before both trips sell out. You will play all day and night if you choose and your skills will improve dramatically. The coaching you will receive from these amazing pros does not happen anywhere else on earth.

Both trips will be held at beautiful club med all inclusive resorts. All food and drinks (top shelf alcohol) is included. Don't know where you live, but since you said "any and all"...

I live near Atlantic City, and belong to the Brigantine Beach Volleyball Association, we play at the 38th Street courts in Brigantine, very very nice courts, level, nice clean sand.  Membership is just $30 for the season, plus you need to be an AVP member for insurance.  Members get together for open play every Thursday night, doubles and sixes.  Plus we run two tournaments a year (over now).  Mostly BB, some A and B.  If you want to just check it out one week, you can just pay $5 without joining.
There's also open play most weekends, no set schedule.
No Olympic wannabes will be ripping your face off.

Ventnor has a beach league of sixes, Tuesday nights, at the city park where Somerset Ave meets the beach.  BB, A, AA, also winter play.

Great American Volleyball runs tournaments, mostly in Point Pleasant, also in Atlantic City and one joint one (just this past weekend) in Brigantine with us.  B to open.  Haven't been to one, but I'm pretty sure if you want to get your face ripped off, you can sign up for open.  Don't know how competitive the B is.

advice from any one of you pros out there is greatly appreciated. I

May-Treanor, Walsh remain unbeaten
Brooklyn Open title is 17th in a row
NEW YORK -- Winning doesn't get old. Just ask Kerri Walsh. After she and Misty May-Treanor, the best women's beach volleyball team in the world, beat Jennifer Boss and April Ross, 21-14, 21-15, in the finals of the AVP Brooklyn Open on Sunday afternoon in Coney Island live on NBC, Walsh was all smiles.
The pair have now won 95 open championships and 17 tournaments in a row, including a record 96 straight matches. They have already broken their own records of 15 straight tournament victories and 89 straight match wins.
"They're each wonderful in their own right," Walsh said.
May-Treanor had 17 kills and 11 digs and Walsh added eight kills, four digs and five blocks. Boss had 13 kills and Ross had 12 in the final. May-Treanor said the long television breaks made it hard for one team to keep momentum. But it didn't look that way.
"It gets tough, especially with the TV and the long breaks," she said.
May-Treanor and Walsh certainly aren't sick of winning, but Boss didn't have the same sentiment about their domination after the Brooklyn final.
"It doesn't make it any easier," she said of losing to the odds-on favorite to take home gold in the summer Olympics next month. "I'm sick of them winning...we're ready for anyone else to win at this point."
Boss and Ross, the alternates for the U.S. national team, put together a small run in the second game, but Walsh and May-Treanor -- as always -- finished with a flourish. With the Olympics only a little more than two weeks away, the sensational duo is in a nice rhythm. They are trying to become the first women's beach volleyball team to ever win two gold medals.
Walsh and May-Treanor won the gold four years ago in Athens.
"Personally, I'm pretty happy with the way we've been playing in the last month," Walsh said. "We're just steady."
The Olympics is, naturally, on both their minds. They will be playing once every other day -- a much greater rest period than an AVP tournament, the balls will be different and each country brings with it a different style of beach volleyball.
Walsh said some of the things she and May-Treanor are working on as preparation are serving and defense. But first, they will be meeting President George W. Bush on Monday night with 12 other athletes, including Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers, two of the four U.S. team's men's beach volleyball representatives.
"I've never met a president before," Walsh said. "It's an honor."
For the third year in a row, May-Treanor and Walsh said Brooklyn was a positive experience. They praised the New York fans -- not known for their volleyball familiarity -- for being knowledgeable. There was one part of this stop on the AVP Tour missing for from the past two years for the pair, though.
And clearly, it wasn't winning.
"I passed on the Cyclone this year," said May-Treanor of the famous rollercoaster at neighboring AstroLand Park, "because of the bruises. It's the rickety-ness."
Can't blame her. She's part of a well-oiled machine.

Rogers, Dalhausser win Brooklyn title
Top men's duo ready for Olympics
NEW YORK -- If there was a statement to be made -- a declaration that top-seeded Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers weren't looking past the AVP toward next month's summer Olympics -- it took form very quickly. Dalhausser slammed three straight blocks into the sand to start the Brooklyn Open final, an impressive opening salvo against the No. 2-seeded team of Sean Scott and Nick Lucena. Less than 90 minutes later, he and Rogers were holding the $25,000 check and celebrating a tournament victory after a 21-16, 21-12 win Saturday afternoon live on NBC in Coney Island.
"It didn't hurt us, that's for sure," Dalhausser said of the first three points.
The Olympics-bound team took Scott and Lucena out of the match quickly -- mentally more than physically. Scott earned a yellow card in the first game and Lucena in the second. It was clear how difficult Dalhausser and Rogers are to beat when they're both playing at their best.
"They're like a snowball heading downhill right now," Scott said.
Rogers has now won 44 open titles and Dalhausser has 32. Together they have 31 titles. Dalhausser's lone title without Rogers, ironically, came when he teamed with good friend Lucena in Austin, Texas in 2005. Scott and Rogers used to team together as well. Two years ago at the King of the Beach, Rogers picked Scott as his partner. So, there was plenty of familiarity.
It didn't help Scott and Lucena on Saturday, though.
"I think it neither helps nor hurts anyone," Rogers said. "I think it makes for a better match."
He and Dalhausser were never really challenged, though. Scott and Lucena never could string together any significant runs. Dalhausser's block is probably the best in the world and Rogers' defensive skill is unmatched in the AVP, where he has been named defensive player of the year the past four seasons.
Dalhausser had five blocks and seven kills in the final and Rogers notched 20 kills and 15 digs.
This year, the soon-to-be Olympians have won eight of nine AVP Tour events they have entered and they have been victorious in 45 of their 47 matches.
In just the second year of their partnership, Dalhausser and Rogers have already reached the top-10 overall victories -- counting international and domestic events.
"They make you do things that other teams don't make you do," Lucena said. "They're unstoppable right now."
That's exactly what the United States wants to hear as Dalhausser and Rogers get set for Beijing. Rogers said he and Dalhausser spoke over the winter about Olympics preparation and they came to the decision that they wouldn't do anything differently -- they would just play the game that has made them so successful.
"Let's just stay in the same rhythm," Rogers recalls saying months ago.
It seems to be working for them with a chance to win a gold medal on the horizon. Neither has played in the Olympics before and they are certainly one of the favorites to bring gold back to America.
And Lucena won't expect anything less. When asked if Dalhausser and Rogers can win gold in Beijing, he had a short reply:
"They better!"

Favorites move on in Coney Island
Young Budinger finishes in 13th
NEW YORK -- To hear Duncan Budinger tell it, he's the third-best volleyball player in his family. His sister Brittanie holds numerous records at the University of San Francisco and played two years professionally in Europe. And his brother Chase was one of the best school-boy volleyball players to ever come out of the San Diego area. He spent time with both the 16- and 18-and-under United States indoor volleyball national teams.
But Chase Budinger doesn't play volleyball anymore aside from messing around with his friends on the beach when he's home from school. He's a star basketball player for the University of Arizona and almost left this past year, his sophomore season, for the NBA Draft.
"He was super stressed out about it," Duncan said of Chase's decision.
Chase has said in interviews that he considers himself both a basketball player and a volleyball player. There's no doubt what Duncan is. He excelled at Long Beach State and played indoor last year in Germany. This year, he plans on heading to Holland to play.
But perhaps his future lies on the beach. The 6-foot-8 Budinger and teammate Clint Coe won their first-ever main draw match Friday at the AVP Brooklyn Open in Coney Island and tacked on a second win, as well. The duo, seeded No. 32 out of 32 teams, lost to top-seed Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers to open the tournament then knocked off No. 16 Jeff Carlucci/Albert Hannemann and No. 18 Canyon Ceman/Casey Patterson.
Budinger and Coe fell to No. 7 John Mayer/Jeff Nygaard, 16-21, 21-15, 12-15 but earned a 13th-place finish. Not bad considering the pair only qualified for two other AVP tournaments this season.
"Right now, I consider myself an indoor person," Budinger said. "I consider the beach a hobby. But if I keep winning, who knows what the future holds?"
In Chase Budinger's future, there's plenty of cash -- he's almost a lock to be a first-round pick in next year's NBA Draft, guaranteed to make millions. But Duncan wouldn't mind seeing his brother, known for his uncanny leaping ability, out on the sand more often.
"He's the more athletic one," Duncan said. "He would be amazing out here."
Business as usual: Todd Rogers said earlier Friday that these last few AVP Tour stops are "good training" for the Summer Olympics, to be played in Beijing, China in August. And he and Phil Dalhausser are treating the Brooklyn Open as just that -- training.
The top-seeded pair -- and best team in the nation -- cruised into the winner's bracket semifinals Friday with three fairly easy wins. On the other side of the net from Dalhausser and Rogers on Saturday morning will be No. 4 Matt Olson and Kevin Wong. No. 2 Nick Lucea/Sean Scott will play No. 6 Stein Metzger/Mark Williams, who beat No. 3 John Hyden-Brad Keenan in the winner's bracket quarters.

The men's final will be aired live Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on NBC.

On the women's side, there weren't too many surprises, either. No. 1 Misty May-Treanor/Kerri Walsh, No. 2 Annett Davis/Jenny Johnson Jordan, No. 3 Nicole Branagh-Elaine Youngs and No. 4 Jennifer Boss-April Ross all advanced. In a mini-upset, No. 12 Michelle More/Suzanne Stonebarger beat No. 5 Carrie Dodd/Tatiana Minello to advance into the winner's bracket quarterfinals.
No. 6 Tyra Turner/Rachel Wacholder, No. 7 Dianne DeNecochea/Barbra Fontana and No. 8 Angie Akers/Holly McPeak also will move on in the winner's bracket Saturday.
The women's final is set for Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and will also air live on NBC.

Coney Island next stop on Tour
May-Treanor, Walsh look to continue incredible run
From the 1920's-40's, Coney Island was known as the "World's Largest Playground" because it was the ultimate destination for fun: there were three large fairgrounds complete with exhilarating rides, cotton candy and warm sunny beaches. This weekend, the island will again become one of the largest playgrounds when the AVP circuit makes its annual stop in Brooklyn. The Crocs Slam Brooklyn Presented by Cushman and Wakefield will transform the beach into a 13-court volleyball showdown.
After making their way through the rounds, the men will face off in a final on Saturday at 2:30.
Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers are the No. 1 seeds and have won seven out of eight tournaments that they've entered this year. This weekend they will have to battle against many strong men's teams. Look for Sean Scott and Nick Lucena and No. 3 John Hyden and Brad as they vie for the chance to appear on center court for the finals.
On the women's side, Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh have been flattening the competition in their last 90-straight match wins. This weekend, they will be attempting to hold off the upset from No. 2 Jenny Johnson Jordan and Annett Davis and No. 3 Nicole Branagh and Elaine Youngs.
The women's championship match with take place at 2:30 on Sunday.
If you aren't fortunate enough to be able to attend the tournament that will be talking place in the hot Coney Island sun, don't forget that you can still catch the action! Watch the finals live on NBC... but you probably shouldn't expect to have a golden tan by the end of it.

Anybody ever play at the beach courts set up at Mercer County park?  Looks like there are 3 beach courts there in pretty good shape.
