Hey guys,
I am working on setting up a vintage base ball day at the NH Fisher Cats in Manchester, NH on Sunday May 24th. It is a 1:05 start and they are playing the Trenton Thunder (Yankees farm club). What they are thinking of doing is having the vintage players march out on the field and they may introduce all of the different clubs. During the game they will let us set up a table and interact with the crowd.
I am also working on getting a game against a group of over 30 baseball players from Manchester to play against us after the Fisher Cats game. There was also talk of having a get together at one of the local downtown bars.
Would anyone be interested in attending? Right now the only thing confirmed is the Fisher Cats game. Let me know.

Sorry if you get this email several times I don’t know who is on what group page…. I just wanted to remind all of you that a few of the captains will be getting together to discuss some vintage base ball and have a few pints on Saturday December 13th.As usual we will meet at the Boston Bear Works near Fenway, shall we say 1pm?Here are directions http://www.beerworks.net/html/locations_fenway.html . There should be parking on the street or in the lot next door.
Usually we discuss scheduling, tournaments, etc, but I know a lot of you already have a big chunk of your schedule in place.I also have a few things I would like to throw out there #1. I am planning a trip to Ireland in July where we would bring 19th century baseball over to the people there.http://www.baseballireland.com I am still working out the details but we are looking for some more people to go over.#2. I have been nominated to be a trustee on the national VBBA.I think they are looking for more involvement from New England so I would like to discuss some things that you guys like/ dislike
about the VBBA and how maybe it can be more beneficial to your club.
i played last summer with thames new london and we had a great season,
ild like to try to hitch onto a fast pitch team this year, even if only
for a few games................doesnt look like our team will play any
1884 style games.......ild at least like to try my hand at the over
hand league while im young.............so any teams looking for a bench
player to fill out the lineup and maybe be there when yerr short for
people, gimme a holler.hoozah!

Try Ken and Paula Weaver at http://www.baseballamericaspastime.com. They have
been making vintage uniforms for years (from Orange, CT).

Hi Brian,
This is Andrea Bird, Ralph Hebb's wife. I was thinking about buying Ralph some vintage uniform pants for his birthday tomorrow, and he had mentioned at one point that the same guy in Connecticut that makes the shirts also makes pants.
Could you send me the contact information for this person?
Thanks very much!

Developing a team depends on how far you want to get into this sport.
Finding teams to play in your area is not a problem. You are in a
hotbed of vintage clubs. Go to
http://www.newenglandvintagebaseball.com/
Other than finding players you will need;
A) Committed players to play often and willingness to travel a bit
(maybe an hour to an hour an a half at the most) if you want teams to
come to you.
B) Sponsors or a deep pocket book.
C) A descision of what style to focus on...overhand (1880s) or
underhand (1860s) or both.
Keep us up to date as to your progress.
