Re: [nevbbl] Berlin Vintage Base Ball Club

Hey Tony,

I wish I had more computer skills and was able to upload some of the video clips we have onto the computer but I am just not that talented. I have asked a guy on our team to try but the DVD I gave him has been sitting at his house for a year now, I should see if the kids at school know how to do it...... Most of the stuff on the web is of 1886 rules. On the Newtown Sandy Hooks site there is a link to a trailer of a documentary MLB is putting together on vintage base ball. I would suggest also looking at 19cbb web site http://www.19cbaseball.com/legacy2.html . There are a few clips from Old Bethpage playing.

Hooking up with a historical society can be very helpful if they are willing to help.... Sometimes they are sometimes they arent.

As far as the NEVBBL goes there really isnt a league right now, there is a semblance of a league but not really and it only includes 6 or 7 teams. As a whole I think most of the teams in NE (close to 20) are looking to form an association which would be very loose and basically be a way to help educate, promote, and foster vintage base ball in NE. Whatever we form would not keep standings or force teams to play X amount of games, etc, etc.

Hi guys. I'm in the process of forming the big club. I have been in
contact with some of you via e-mail. I appreciate all the help and
information I have received.

I'm working on a team name (I'm leaning towards the Peddlers - the
town symbol is a picture of a Yankee Peddler) and trying to determine
the types of uniforms we will wear. I hope to partner up with the
Berlin Historical Society and add sponsors as we go.

For the next few months I will do some more research on vintage base
ball. If anyone has anything that might be of help to me, please
feel free to let me know. I would really like to see a video or
something like that in meantime. I saw a game in NY once, but don't
remember any specifics. Is there anything floating out there?

How should I go about joining the NEVBBL? Should I wait until I get
a full team together?

Tony
