RE: [nevbbl] Re: Vintage Base Ball

Tony,

It was sort of a long process but, like you, had a long range vision. I began planning, recruiting, practicing in September 2005 and played our first game in May of 2006. The problem I ran into there was some players who committed and even practiced that fall decided not to play in the spring (losers). I still managed to pull together 18 players by Jan. got their uniforms ordered (they paid), practiced on April weekends, playing by May. Personally, I think you can still do this for this Spring / Summer.

Dan:

Thanks for writing. I like your club's website. I'll definitely
have a bunch of questions about that. I'm waiting to hear back from
the Berlin Citizen Newspaper. I emailed the editor about doing a
story on this topic and the team I want to form. I planned on
putting an ad in the paper but thought a story in the local paper
might generate more publicity.

How long did it take you to get the ball rolling on forming the
Westfield team? Was it a long process?

Tony
