Team
In order to gain a performance advantage for the fall MTB season I will be
offering blood boosting to interested team members. The procedure consists
of giving a whole unit of blood now, freezing it and returning it to your
system next fall before key events/nationals. Performance gains are usually
in 20-25% range. Given that is it the beginning of April this is the
perfect time to extract a unit of blood and recover fully for the fall MTB
season. My freezer space is limited so please contact me ASAP if you are
interested in this type of performance enhancing.
Thanks
Coach Matt

I am forwarding Scott's email that I copied from topica and I am
sending it out to this group to ensure that everyone receives his
message, because it is important. I also wanted to remind everyone
about the cycling meeting tomorrow night (info. is posted on the
calendar), since I did not receive an email informing me about the
meeting, and I only found out about it after talking to Tom.
I also would like to once again encourage everyone to stop using
topica and to switch to Yahoo. If we continue to use two email
groups then information may not be passed along to everyone on the
team especially since some of us can not join topica!
Christina
Cyclists, we are in need of volunteers for our race on campus in two
weeks. SAIWI, a co-sponsoring group on campus is helping with
volunteers but we need to pull our weight too.
Thus,
If you are not racing, you need to volunteer to help out. It is a
just few hour comitment and you will get to watch the race and have
fun. You can do a shift in the morning or afternoon, just please
help out. If you are racing, your first priority should be your
race, but please volunteer in addition, either pre race, in the
morning, or post race. If you want to know when your race is, look
at the flier on our website, www.nevadacycling.com . If you can get
your buddy to help out, that works too. We also need volunteers for
sunday, but significantly fewer (contact me if you can volunteer
sunday).
to volunteer, pleasse send your contact info (email, phone)and what
time you are able to help out to Ben Rau who is coordinating
volunteers. His email is dunkl-@... . See ya soon, Scot
Hey there all!!!!
My friend Tenille (some of you know her from Stanford)and I have a
hotel for Sea Otter. There is some room if anyone wants to pitch
in. I have the room reserved for Friday and Saturday night so if
anyone is interested let me know.
Sarah
Yeah~~~~
It's still not wierd enough for me.

Team,
Mr. Gerken has just informed me that our t-shrits will be in on Fri. So let's have a t-shirt/picture/UNR race update and maybe prerace Berkley party (race flier http://www.calcycling.org/race/2004/race-weekend.php).
Everyone who is a member of the team should pick up their t-shirt. Extra shirts can be purchased for a price not yet determined, probably wholesale. Wholesale prices of the shirts will be $10 and retail price will be $12-$15.
Personally, I would rather meet next Thurs night, but if more people would rather meet on Sat, we'd do that.

Thanks for the email. If you mean the team website, the address is www.nevadacycling.com. We are trying to get everyone on a new listserve at www.nevadacycling@yahoogroups.com. This would help people out who have school addresses and can't get the topica emails. Eventually I'll probably stop using the roster to email, and just use yahoo, so you may want to sign up for it! You end up getting a yahoo email, but you don't have to use it because you can have the listserve mail sent to your regular address. --hint hint for anyone else reading this :)

Sorry about the duplicates!!!! We need to figure out a better email system...like everyone signing up for yahoo.
We REALLY need to have a meeting with everyone who is planning on going to Moab. We need to discuss things like what gear to bring, sharing tents and if anyone else needs to drive. We don't need everyone to bring every item of camping gear that they own.
We also need to decide a meeting time/place for leaving Sun morning (3/14).
The wine club thing at my house is going to be at 7pm now...it changed. But I thought we could have a meeting about the trip at 6:30 (Fri 3/5), before the tasting starts.
PLEASE email/call me if you can not make it to this because the only other convenient time for me would be after next Wed, but I don't want to leave it too late.
Summary:
Moab meeting-- Alex's house
6:30pm Fri (3/5)
Take 7th Street west from Keystone area
turn left on Everett, right after bluish/grey church on left (St Stevens??)
turn on first right off Everett, called Edgewood
first right on Judith off of Edgewood
2705 Judith
house in on the corner of Edgewood and Judith, yellow, chain link fence
Wine Club Tasting-- Alex's house
7pm Fri (same night!)
Bring a date (doesn't have to be opposite sex) and a bottle of wine between you. We'll taste all different wines and rate the best one!!!
If you call my phone, just leave a message and I'll call you back!

I just wanted to make sure that everyone is aware that UNR is
hosting NCAA nationals for skiing next week. This should be a great
event and I am sure the athletes would really enjoy a few extra
spectators (although I imagine there will be a lot of enthusiastic
people). The NCAA race circuit is extremely competitive (well I
know it was 5 years ago and probably still is currently) with
athletes that compete on the world cup circuit and in the Olympics,
which means if you go you will see some amazing skiing. UNR
qualified a total of eight athletes for nationals (3 alpine and 5
nordic). Nationals begin on March 11th and end on the 13th. Sugar
Bowl will be hosting the alpine events and Auburn ski Club (located
at Donner Summit, at the end of the Boreal parking lot) will host
the nordic events. Winter is obviously still here so why not enjoy
it and support UNR athletes. If you want more info. go to this link
http://nevadawolfpack.ocsn.com/sports/c-ski/spec-rel/030104aaa.html
or the UNR athletics page.
If anyone is a member of the topica group could you forward this
message. Thanks.
Enjoy the snow!
Christina
I would love to go! I am horrible at skate skiing! But I really like to do it, and I know how, but I usually can't make it up any sort of incline. I'm up for anything, just as long as it's OK that I am really slow at skate skiing.

Hello Everyone,
If you have no interest in cold fast fun and skinny skis then you
not read any further and can delete this message. A few people on
the team have expressed interest cross country skiing, and have
asked me if I could take them out sometime this winter. I would
like to schedule a time to go skiing (for those that are interested)
that would work for as many people as possible. I usually coach on
Saturday (9:00 - 12:00) at Auburn Ski club, but I am available most
Saturday afternoons (there is an afternoon group of kids at the club)
and Sundays. I would recommend that we either all skate or all
classic ski if we want to go as a group. I also think that it would
be best if we skied on groomed trails (I am sure that the club would
let us ski there for a nominal charge, $5 and your release of
liability). We could ski in the "backcountry" but it would be more
difficult for beginners and skating would only be possible under the
correct conditions (firm, packed snow). Part of the problem with
the "backcountry" is that the tracks are often trampled by snow
shoes, which makes it difficult to keep the skis going straight and
stopping is nearly impossible. We could also ski at one of the
resorts, but the cost would be substantially higher (approx.
$20/day). If anyone is interested and has any thoughts or
suggestions (dates) please let me know!
Have a great weekend,
Christina
