Subject: [netballcoaching] Activities for U17s

Hi all,

I thought it would be worth us all sharing our thoughts on the best activities for U17 teams.

Skills you teach that have the most influence on their game play and the activities that teach these skills.

I've found that teaching players a 'change of direction', a 'double lead', '3 steps in 1 direction and then change direction and lead in the other direction' - whichever way you want to discribe the same thing.

I find players either dance behind their defenders too long before they actually run somewhere so this helps
AND
I find the player with the ball seems content to just pass the ball to a player who is leading even if they have a defenders in front of them.

I'll attach some drills to the next email - We'd all love to hear your thoughts on these drills and do you find any variation or different one help your teams.

I look forward to hearing from you all.

Cheers

Gill
