Does anyone have any information on planning & organising beach netball tournaments? My club is planning to host, its country's first beach tournament and I'd love to get some ideas.
Thank you in advance.

Hi Michelle, Well done, and good luck for the forthcoming season. I have often said that we city folk just don't know what brilliant sporting talent falls through the net because an expert eye isn't there to pick up on something that others can't see. And isn't it true Michelle, that some people are good at a number of sports, but sometimes you find a person who is OK at most sports, but excels in one, it could be netball! But we will never know unless they get full exposure.
Finally, Runways? Is that near Runaway Bay?

Hi All
Well, I don’t know about other areas in Australia – but tomorrow is the big sign on day for Queensland netballers! I thought I’d check in and see how everyone’s start to the netball year has been.
I’m the president of a regional netball club, with about 12 teams. This will be my third season as president, and I’m excited to see how our hard work will pay off. I’ve also stepped up to coaching the A grade team this year – which will be a challenge, as I have always chosen to coach B/A Res as I love the ‘diamonds in the rough’ feeling by the end of the year. Now I need to remember to make the drills faster, more complicated and add some more strategy in. For so long I’ve been thinking, ‘when the ball skills are better I will....’ and now I can!
I must tell you all too, that we did our A grade trials recently, and had the good fortune to find out that Ana Noovao (former Silver Fern captain and Cook Islands coach) was in town (yes, in our little town) and we asked her to speak to the players trialling. I was SO impressed by her – and the girls were thrilled – it’s not often you get to speak to someone who’s actually made it in regional Queensland.
Good luck to everyone with a sign on soon – may you all have wonderfully motivated teams to coach!
