Yes, I’d recommend the wall one too – if she doesn’t
throw hard enough, it won’t come back to her.
Also, make sure her balance and footwork are strong too –
otherwise she won’t be able to get the power behind her pass.

Hi Cathy.
You could try a medicine ball, being
much heavier she has to push the ball not throw it.
With a netball, put a target on the
wall, not much above shoulder height. She has to throw the ball at the target
and catch it again. Throw accurately to hit the target, throw hard enough to
catch the ball at shoulder or chest height. Start close to the wall and
gradually move back as her strength and accuracy increase. You could also
put another target above head height to practice a two-handed overhead pass and
catch.
Encourage her to not throw the ball with
her hand or flick it with her wrist, but to get her hand, arm, shoulder, chest,
hips, behind the ball. If she’s right-handed, step into the pass with her
left foot. These improve the strength and the accuracy of the pass. Practice
both single-handed shoulder passes and two-handed chest passes.
Steve.

Subject: [netballcoaching] how to increase passing speed?
Hi
I have a player who is on the small side,
but has great court speed and agility. Unfortunantly, her passing is
letting her down.
Does anyone have any drills or practice
items she can do on her own at home to increase her passing speed, accuracy and
strength.
At the moment she makes a fantastic
intercept but many of her passes are lollypops and end up being turned back
over.
Thanks Cathy
