Re: [netballcoaching] I need coaching advice!

Hi everyone!

I have found that trying to teach players to land on two feet first and then gradually progressing to one foo landings works wonders. I agree with Kristen though, including the whole team will ensure that your little lady isnt alienated from the group.

Have a great week guys!

I had the same problem and have been able to solve it by, as part of every warm up at every session getting the girls as a whole team, problem or not, pushing their ball up and forward in front of themselves then running to jump and catch it before it lands on the ground landing on one foot and stop. Up and down the court 3 times. Watch for cheats they have to do another 2 laps!!

As a result there is no one in the team (u/11) that has a problem and we continue to do this very regularly as a reminder.

Subject: [netballcoaching] I need coaching advice!

Hi Everyone,

I have been coaching an under 13th team for 2 years now, and everything is
going really well...except I have a stepping problem with one player, she
has been playing for 2 years now, I have tried a number of drills, putting
coin in her landing foot, calling out when she receives the ball etc. but it
just isn't working. Does anyone have any advice on how I can help her not
to step.

Thanks guys,
Caroline...

Hi Caroline, try getting her to run up to a line and as she takes off over the line she counts 1 - 2 as she lands each of her feet. Then when she has got that...

Hi Geoff, I had the same problem before as well. I got them to run and then jump with one foot and land on the other foot. Either left or right. Try this one....
