Tournament fixture

The law of mathmatics will not allow you to do this!

If you have 7 teams and 3 courts at any one time you'll have 6 teams
on court and 1 resting. Therefore in the next round 5 teams will have
to play again.

7 Teams on 2 courts is only marginally better since you'll have 4
teams on court and 3 teams resting so in the following round only 1
team has to play again. There will however be times when you may need
to have 2 teams playing 2 consecutive games.

With 5 courts and 14 teams you could probably play a ladder (each
team plays 8 games (against the 4 teams above and the 4 teams below
on a list) that will then give you some relative rankings (since not
all teams will have played each other), you can then have the top 4
teams playing off for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th with the next 4 playing
off for 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th etc.

courts. It is really baffling us. Can you help so that no team plays
more than 2 games in a row.
