Re: [netballcoaching] Short pre season

Hi all,

Short Pre season - I'll assume the following:

Four week pre season
Two hour training session once per week.

Training sessions:
Week 1
1 hour - High intensity (Ball Handling in 2's, two leads to each ball)
30mins - C-Passes
30mins - Match Play

Week 2
1 hour - High intensity (Ball Handling in Group and focus on defending)
30mins - Defence throw ins
30mins - Match Play

Week 3
1 hour - High intensity (Ball Handling in 3's, & Decision making)
30mins - Attacking from Rebounds, Go over C-passes
30mins - Match Play

Week 4
Try to organise a round robin with a few teams - if you can't then do the
following.
30mins - High intensity Ball Handling in Group
Match Play against yourselves, 5mins focusing on a particular thing, another
5mins seeing if we they can improve etc.

This is roughly what I would do - I'm sure there are many different points of
view, I'd love to hear them.

I hope this helps.

Regards

Gillian

Subject: [netballcoaching] Short pre season

Hi all

I have a really short pre season this year and my usual training plan will
see us working on some essentials for the first time mid way through our season.

I would like to hear some of your training plans - what fitness and netball
specific skills you work on, in what order and how much time you dedicate to
these - so that I can get an idea of how to shift my plan around.

I have successfully been working to my plan for quite some time but it
simply will not work with such a short pre season and I don't know where to
begin!

Your help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Kat
