Re: [netballcoaching] Breaking Forward

hi
l have a simple drill that may help.
l toe the line to throw out and l have the girls in two's one defender, one
attacker,
they are spread out on half the court.
the attackers must make a lead for me to throw the ball.
keep working on it till the understand.
Also can be done as a centre throw out.
Another one l do which is simarliar.
Have 2 players in goal circle, 2 players on the left of them outside, and 2
players on the right of them outside.
Use a player to throw to a attacker that breaks keep the flow going using the
outside attackers to help shooter shoot. ( must lead) as well in circle.

Hope this helps

Subject: [netballcoaching] Breaking Forward

Hi guyz.

Just wondering if anybody had any ideas i could try out on my team of
13/14 year olds.

They r not breaking forward for the ball. They all want to stand
behind their players and pass the ball over the top of the players. To
many passes are getting intercepted by doing this.

Does anybody ahve any ideas i can try to get them to come forward and
use the space rather then dropping back all the time???

Thanks for any help u can provide me

I found the tip on the Cancoach website (in the latest coaching tips) to be useful. It explains that "coming forward" is actually coming "down and across"....
