RE: [netballcoaching] Setting out a training session

Hi Tracey,
while I was coaching I kept to a pretty tight training session each week
( obviously changing the drills ect each week but the backbone of it was
the same)This is based on a 1 hour session
1. You have your warm up (10mins)
2. Skills warm up ( 10 passes on your right then left, lobes, bounce
passes etc, 10 mins)
3. Tech session (incorporating a bit of ball work as well i.e.:
drills)(20mins)
4. A game of some sort using skills learnt from the session (10mins)
5. Cool down (5mins)
6. Give the players any type of relevant information needed (5mins)
I found that if I stuck to this it made my job really easy. I got this
information from a netta skills booklet that had heaps of drills in it
etc that I found very useful to help me plan trainings etc and for
general knowledge.
I hope this helps
Melinda

Subject: [netballcoaching] Setting out a training session

Hi
Can anyone give me some tips on setting out a training session, I know
heaps of drills but putting the session into some sort of order is
stumping me, I want to make it interesting and fun, but I keep going off
on different tangents.

Is there an easy way to plan a training session?

Thanks

Tracey
