At its meeting this week the NRC Exec considered several aspects of the LDSS.
The series poster will be be published and entries open on OARA soon.
However.
The LDSS currently does not have a co-ordinator; no-one having volunteered to
take up the role following Sarah-Louise's resignation. Andrew Bryant and myself
have undertaken to do the work on a caretaker basis until such time as a
co-ordinator can be found.
We are both busy people and will therefore be keeping things as simple and
straightforward as possible.
On the subject of entry fees; they will be required to arrive, by post, with the
entries secretary, on the Wednesday before each race. If no entry fee is
received the entry will not be accepted. We will not be chasing people for
missing entry fees. There will be no option of paying on the day.
Andrew and I will be making no exceptions.
regards
Chris

Subject: [nerowing] LDS Fees
I have just read with interest Alan Granlund's treasurers report for the
NRC.
I can not believe that any club or individual in this region or beyond has
taken up to 3 months to pay their entry fees for the LDS.
I understand at the start of the 2007 series there were problems with postal
strkes and club cheques not getting to Sarah-Lousie/Charly by the stated
dates. But clubs/individuals would be well aware that they had not paid
their fees as they persuaded the organisers to give them their race numbers
stating the cheques had been held up in the post.
Would it not be possible to run a strict no fee no race number as I believed
was to have been the case last year. Or at the very least if the previous
weeks fees are outstanding then no start number for the next week. Perhaps
the persistent non paying clubs/individual should be named and shamed on
this forum.
To the clubs and individuals who try to get away without paying. Think on!
The series is a great event but is run and organised like most regional
events solely by volunteers who are giving up their time for our enjoyment.
Let's help the oranisers, host clubs and all regional rowers by paying up on
time. After all £6 - £7 or what ever it may be this year. It's still
cheap for 18 - 25 minutes of racing compared with the summer seasons 3 -5
minutes.
I don't usually rant on this forum but this really got to me.
Looking forward to some good racing at the LDS this year with all entries
paid before each race starts!!!!!!!!!!
