All,
After attending the ARA Online presentation the other week I came away
with a good feeling that the online regatta entry system will be of
positive benefit to the clubs and regattas in our region. I'm sure that
there will be some teething troubles whilst everyone gets used to an
electronic vs paper system but most of those should be cleared up quite
quickly.
Now one thing that I don't think has been asked is what the takeup rate
will be from clubs (and I guess regattas). To that end I would be
grateful if club and regatta officials could feedback answers to the
following questions.
Note reply to me personally (at richm@...) and I'll
summarize to stop the list being overrun by many messages.
1) Do you anticipate that your club will make (or regatta will take) the
majority of entries online this year.
2) How are you likely to pay (or a regatta receive payment) for your
entries:
a) Online (Credit/Debit Card)*
b) Online (via some form of club account with ARA)*
c) Cheque/Cash prior to regatta
d) Cheque/Cash at the regatta
3) What is your biggest worry about the new system?
4) Do you need any more information about the online entries system?
5) Are you aware that the new system doesn't allow you to enter
competitors who require day tickets?
