D.C. United, New England Revolution, and Chicago Fire all rolled over
Western foes Wednesday the 11th. Freddy Adu and Earnie Stewart scored
in United's 3-1 win vs. Colorado. The Revs dominated Dallas 3-0. And
Damani Ralph's late goal in a 2-1 win over San Jose, snapped the
Fire's nine-game losing streak.

At the same time, halfway around the world, the Summer Olympics
commenced with the first competition being a women's soccer match
between Team USA and host nation Greece, which was televised live on
MSNBC in the U.S. USA dominated throughout the match, prevailing 3-0,
and allowed the rookie Greek team only one shot on goal. To follow
