Revolution acquire midfielder Luke Vercollone from the Columbus Crew

The New England Revolution announced today the acquisition and signing of
midfielder Luke Vercollone. Originally drafted by the Columbus Crew in the =
5th Round
(42nd overall) in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft, Vercollone moves to the Revoluti=
on in
exchange for New England's 5th round selection in the 2005 SuperDraft. As a=

Developmental player, Vercollone will not occupy a position on the Revoluti=
on's 18-
man senior roster. Per league and team policy, terms of the contract are no=
t
disclosed.

Vercollone, a Kingston, Mass., native, played soccer at Silver Lake Regiona=
l High
School in Kingston. He was named All-State, All-Conference and team MVP as =
a senior
and captained the squad that year as well. Vercollone led Silver Lake to Ol=
d Colony
League titles in both his sophomore and junior seasons.

Vercollone went on to a standout collegiate career at Seton Hall University=
, and as a
senior in 2003, captained the Pirates to a 9-6-4 record, earning All-Big Ea=
st First
Team and adidas/NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Region All-America First Team honors for=
his
play. Vercollone helped Seton Hall to three consecutive NCAA Tournament
appearances during his career with the Pirates.

Vercollone also helped the Cape Cod Crusaders of the Premier Development Le=
ague
(USL - Fourth Division) to national championships in 2002 and 2003 and was =
the
team's MVP in 2003.

The Revolution also announced that goalkeeper Kyle Singer has been loaned t=
o the
New Hampshire Phantoms of the Pro Select League (USL - Third Division profe=
ssional)
on a season-long basis. Singer will continue to train with the Revolution, =
joining the
Phantoms for games. In 2003, Singer played eight games on loan to the Phant=
oms,
finishing the season sixth in the PSL in wins (7) and fifth in shutouts (4)=
.

The Revolution play next against the MetroStars on Sunday, April 25 at 4:00=
p.m. at
Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. (TV - Fox Sports Net New England; R=
adio -
WRKO 680-AM).
