Two Revolution Players Named to U.S. National Team Camp

Foxborough, MA- Revolution players Pat Noonan and Steve
Ralston were both named today to the U.S. Men's National Team
30-man roster for the team's upcoming training camp at The
Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. The camp will run from
January 4-17 and will culminate in the first-ever U.S. team match
at The Home Depot Center against 13th-ranked Denmark on
January 18. Kickoff for the match is set for 3:30 p.m. ET, and the
match will be broadcast live on ESPN.
Ralston, a right sided midfielder for the Revolution and the
national team, was the 2002 leader in assists in MLS and is the
league's all-time leader in minutes played. He finished the 2003
season with 4 goals and 7 assists in 26 games. Ralston has 10
career appearances with the U.S. National Team. In 2003, he
scored a goal for the U.S. in the 5-0 victory over Cuba on July 19
at Gillette Stadium in the CONCACAF Gold Cup and also scored
a goal in the U.S. 4-0 win over Canada in a friendly on January
18 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Noonan, a forward and midfielder, participated in the U.S.
National Team camp that took place in Carson, CA from
December 12-19. He enjoyed a breakout rookie season with the
Revolution in 2003 during which he scored 10 goals and had 7
assists in just 1646 minutes played. Noonan was named MLS
Player of the Week 24 of the season as well as MLS Player of the
Month for October.
After posting a 10-4-2 record in 2003, which included a third
place finish in the Gold Cup, the United States will embark this
year on the road to qualification for the 2006 World Cup in
Germany. The U.S. begins CONCACAF qualifying June 13, 2004,
against the winner of the home-and-away series between
Grenada and Guyana, with their first match scheduled to be
played in the United States. With the semifinal round slated to
begin Aug. 18, the U.S. will play a series of friendlies throughout
the year.
