This morning I sent my local Cabrinha dealer an email. I would like
to send you my 2 Crossbows for the attached modification to deal with
the Crossbow bar pressure issue. I am prepared to pay the costs. I am
leaving to DR in a couple of weeks and I would be very grateful it you
could help me and do the mods done before (if possible). Thanks.
I am of course referring to the following modification:

His response was that although he was familiar with the modification
and acknowledged that it probably has some validity and had discussed
it with Cabrina, he would not do the modification for me because he
was worried about legal liability. He was of course happy to sell me
the string etc. for me to do my own modification. I explained that I
was not confident in my ability to deal with the bridle etc. I offered
to pay him for his efforts. Still the same lame excuse legal
liability. He gave me a full dissertation about the litigious US
legal system.
I purchased these kites from him for several thousand dollars last
year. Why are the manufacturers and the kite stores not willing to
stand behind their products and provide modifications when they are
clearly needed???
[I also bought a Hellfish kite from BEST early last year. To their
credit, THEY CALLED ME out of the blue to ask me if I wanted to return
the kites since they admitted problems with them. They took the kite
back, no questions asked, AND gave me an extra $100 store credit on
top of my refund! NOW THAT's SERVICE!!]
