The Boston Ultimate Disc Alliance will be sending teams to all three
divisions (Open, Girls, and Mixed) to the Youth Club Championships in
Blaine, Minnesota on the weekend of August 8th and 9th, 2009. This
national event brings together some of the best under 19 players in the
country and is always a top event for juniors players.
Applications for players interested in trying out for a spot on one of
the three BUDA YCC teams (Open, Women's, and Mixed) are now open. All
interested players should fill out the form available here: http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=cnhYa0lETXBncVg0YW1SZi11NVNvX0E6MA.
Players are selected for the teams based on individual skill, ability
to be a great teammate, and by diversity of high school programs.
Players are responsible for getting themselves to and from Minneapolis
and can expect a player fee in the neighborhood of $200 that covers
rental vans, hotel rooms, uniforms, and tournament fees.
The first tryout event will happen on Sunday, June 14th at the Mitre
Fields in Burlington, MA where players will have the opportunity to
meet the coaches as well as run through a typical practice as a way to
show their stuff. The final teams will be selected shortly thereafter
and will practice during the month of July in anticipation of competing
in Blaine on August 8th and 9th.
