Hi everyone,
I'll bet you thought you'd heard the last of me since I moved to Utah
-- not so, I'm afraid. Since I'm not longer running the BUDA High
School league, I've decided to run for the UPA Board of Directors.
However, it's not because I'm trying to fill my time, but my tenure as
the HSUL director and as a high school coach really gave me a
ground-level view of what youth Ultimate is all about. What it's like
to try to start a team, how hard it is to gain acceptance and to get
started, what a pain UPA registration and rostering can be, and what's
really great about youth Ultimate. I don't think this is a
perspective that anyone else on the board, or running for the board,
has. And I'm not sure it's a perspective that the UPA administration
understands, as well. I'd like to represent YOU and your teams with
the UPA, and make sure that UPA policies (and that terrible
website!!!!) adequately address your needs.

So please, I would appreciate it if you could take a moment to log in
to your UPA account (at www.upa.org) and vote for me for the UPA Board
of Directors. Coaches and captains, I would also appreciate it if you
would pass this on to your teams. Give yourselves and your concerns a
voice with the UPA. You can be assured that anytime you want to be in
contact, I will be listening.
