My rear wheel was destroyed yesterday at Plymouth North and I'm looking for
advice on a replacement 28 hole tubular rim. I'm on an extremely tight budget.

In doing some research I've seen Ambrosio Chronos and Velocity Escapes are in my
range and seem readily available.

Anyone have any experience with either rim?

The wheel is(was) a Mavic Helium, and as I understand it, the 28-hole Reflex rim
is are no longer available?

Thanks in advance!
Scott

Head injuries take time and money. End point.

The best thing all of us can do is show our respect to all the officals we see
every weekend and drop a little money to say "thank you for all the hard work
you do" and help Harry out. These offical keep us as safe as possible.

Thanks BRC, Hub United, Bikereg.com and all those who are stepping up and
helping out. The rest of us should step up, pass the word and do the same.

Weather? I got absolutely soaked during my workout today.

Did I mention it was in a swimming pool? Thanks, you've been a great crowd.
Try the veal and tip your waitress.

Should probably just leave it at an unfortunate alignment of factors.

Anyone has the right to sprint for whatever place they are fighting for.
60th may not mean much to some, but if you are slugging it out with someone

What place it was has nothing to do with it.

The official was doing his job, and had an accident. He might have been "at

donations to represent NECX. We don't want to be referred to as "lame".

Woah Buddy!

1. He was picking up the tape that some conscienceless rider had snapped
and was then blowing in the breeze, dangerously in the finishing chute.
2. Someone was sprinting for 60th place or something like that. One would
think that lack of situational awareness lay there too.

He was hit by a rider sprinting at the finish of the 35+ race at NoHo. It was
an accident and no one was at fault.

Yall heading to NJ better bring the boo birds. Trebon might be a tall freak
like me but, that's hitting too close even for a west coast native
transplated to New England.

"I get frustrated with them sometimes - it's that lame East Coast stuff,"
Trebon said. "But if I have the fitness I know I have a pretty good shot."

lame East Coast stuff.

Seriously treefarm?

So I guess that Belgian/Euro stuff is wicked lame cause you can't do squat
when you go over there too?

East Coast Pride - kick some ass in Mercer folks.

Why is he calling it lame? I get the NJ sucked last year and he was
heckled but is he calling our whole scene lame? Compared to what?
Maybe if someone gave him a gold speedo to wear at Mercer he'd feel
   more comfortable

It will be on the 2008 course. Also, this will be the last year for the Plymouth
North course. They are building a new high school on the site, so until that is
complete, we'll be elsewhere. If you have never ridden North come give it try.

some new course?

Good Afternoon,

I wanted to pass along the status of our UCI official that was injured at
Northampton this past weekend, Harry Lam from Utah. Harry's wife gave us the
okay today to share his condition with everyone. Harry did sustain a skull
fracture, brain bleed, two black eyes, and a broken nose from the collision at
the finish of the M35 race on Saturday. Fortunately Harry did not require
surgery and has already begun working with a physcial therapist. He is in the
early stages of recovery and has a long road ahead of him. The good news is
that Harry was being released from the hospital today. Harry's wife and
parents drove up from Virginia yesterday and will be taking him back to VA where
he will stay with his parents until he is cleared to fly back to UT, which could
be a couple of months.

We are in the beginning stages of setting up a donation fund for Harry. Once
the fund is fully set-up I will send further communication for anyone who like
to contribute.

Harry and his family do send along their thanks for everyone's support and well
wishes in this tough time.

If anyone has further questions please feel free to e-mail me off the group at
tini17@....

Thanks,
Kristen (Fortini) Mills

After much deliberation and many people asking me and not having a job at the
present, I've decided to see about the interest of me taking your bikes again
this year. If you are interested let me know with an email to
gerron10@.... $350/bike including a spare set of wheels (in a wheel bag)
and one small bag (I mean small). From what I've seen at the airlines I would
still be cheaper not to mention the convenience factor which I've been told is
huge. A few changes this year, no heated trailer because after looking at the
route I'm afraid to drive with Manny's trailer (many people who know me would be
surprised to hear that, but I mean afraid of a possible problem not actually
afraid to do it, just thinking it wouldn't be prudent after looking at the
route)so I will be driving a large deisel box truck and hanging the bikes with
both wheels on. Let me know so I can confirm if I am going to do this or not,
needless to say it is a very expensive trip, so I would only do it if I have
enough interest.

Thanks
Ron Goguen

A reminder to all that pre-registration closes next Thursday evening, so avoid
the day-of registration fee and enter the race now. Some new details to
announce:

The race has acquired a special offer for accommodations from the Enclave Inn in
Southampton, right on route 27: $69 for a single and $99 for a double (plus
taxes). To take advantage of this offer you can contact the Enclave at
631-537-2900 and mention the code HBR-11O9.

Also, the Southampton Publik House will be offering a $25 prix fixe all evening
after Saturday's races. Come join us for some good pints and to talk about the
day's races.

Looking forward to seeing you all in the Hamptons next weekend.
