Bill,

I wasn't commenting on shifting issues...I was responding to your
bearing question. In my experience, the newer Record sealed bottom
brackets wear out at under 10,000, maybe under 5,000 miles. No big
deal on a cyclocross bike, maybe, but when mine have gone, it's
been because of dirt incursion. That's why I run the Phil Wood
bottom brackets.

I'm in the market for a new crank & BB and I'm looking for advice on the best sealed BB to get. One option that I have is to take my 2006 campy record crank...

You can get TA rings for campy and they work great. Cyclocrossworld.com should have them. If you are leaving the campy arena. Shimano DA or ultegra are the...
