Crank & BB advice wanted   Message List

I'm in the market for a new crank & BB and I'm looking for advice on the best
sealed BB to get.

One option that I have is to take my 2006 campy record crank and BB (square
tapper type) off my road bike and use it for cx and then get a new crank for the
road bike. Is the record BB sealed enough to fend off mud? One problem with
this is the lack of chain rings for campy bolt circle.

So who's got the best sealed BB for cx? Campy, shimano, FSA, SRAM, Chris King?

Thanks,
Bill

Thanks. I'm running a campy 1x10 again this year with either a 42 or a 40 and a PAUL chain keeper so I'm not too concerned about shift quality. I run the...

Bill, I wasn't commenting on shifting issues...I was responding to your bearing question. In my experience, the newer Record sealed bottom brackets wear out at...
