New cross frame opinions wanted

So who wants to give their two cents on this years picks for frames?
I'm current;y on a first gen redline which is too small so I'm
considering a new frame. I want something below $1K like a salsa,
kona louis garneau....

Is a carbon rear end worth anything or is it just hype?
