Coming on the heels of the mudfest at Granogue the day before, this
race was held under sunny skies on a brisk and windy day.
Mark McCormack was riding in an unenviable position in the
KONA "twins" sandwich, until Barry Wicks made a daring early escape
with 5 laps to go. Tim Johnson, who started dead last, caught up with
Ryan Trebon and McCormack half way in the race. Ryan waited till
Barry had a comfortable lead to make an effort that gave him a second
place. Mark outsprinted Tim for third.
