NCVC juniors roster; contact information; USCF license; upcoming rac   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #808 of 1529 |

We had a good meeting tonight, opening NCVC Juniors’ 2008 season.  I think we met and supped Chipotle’s finest with about 45 folks — juniors and parents.  I wanted to pass on contact information, and our preliminary roster (more detail later), and other information.

  • Myron Lehtman, President, mylehtman@..., (202) 338-0959 (H)
  • Pete Lindeman, Team Director, pete@..., (703) 475-8224 (M)

If you have not, you will want to get a $30 USCF racing license for your racer.  (Same day licenses are available at races, but more complicated/takes time/costs more.)  Follow this link:  http://www.usacycling.org/news/user/story.php?id=579

There is some paperwork that parents need to complete by mail (e.g., a consent form), but it is pretty straightforward.

If you haven’t renewed or joined, follow this link to join NCVC ($15 for Juniors/$50 family):   http://www.bikereg.com/events/register.asp?eventid=5325

You should also join the general team, NCVC Yahoo Groups ... This makes sure you get regular club email.  Follow this link, and search on “NCVC” to find relevant groups: http://dir.groups.yahoo.com/dir/ ... Join (at least) the main NCVC group.

The first training race is next Sunday, at Trade Zone in PG County.  We’ll be watching the weather and, if it looks good (warm, dry), we’ll send a note out letting folks know that folks should try to get out.  (Inexperienced racers should not do this race if there are not other teammates and parents there to help.  That said, it’s a pretty typical venue.)  Information on Trade Zone is here:

Several races are open or will open soon for registration.  These are:

Below is our 2008 roster — preliminary.  Additional folks may join, some may hang-up their cleats.  If you’re not on this list, but want to be/should be.  My apologies.  Let me know, and we’ll fix it.

Welcome to new members.  It is going to be a great year.  Remember, our mission is to have fun, get fit and — if the stars align, -- win a few for the stars-and-bars.  Veterans, thank you for signing-up and contributing to another season.

Regards,

Jim Wilson
