Dear NCTTA members and friends,
First of all, congratulation to Tiger and his Univ. of Southern Mississippi
Table Tennis Club for appearing on TV news channel. It proves that anything is
possible just as long as you put in the time and effort. People might say that
college table tennis or an NCTTA divisional meet will never go on television but
that's only because nobody has put in the necessary effort to make it happen.

Second, for all teams that have made purchases with our sponsor, Table Tennis
Pioneers, please e-mail me back with some details about the purchases ($$$,
rubbers?, tables?) you have made. I need to bring a figure to the table in
future sponsorship negotiation with TTP or even Butterfly Online, Paddle Palace,
etc. and without that figure, I am clueless.
Third, deadline for submitting your application to be considered as candidates
in the coming NCTTA officer election is 11:59pm, April 4. If you are interested
in becoming part of this dynamic organization, please do so ASAP.
Lastly, the 2003-04 NCTTA season is coming to a conclusion. The executive
board is working on the fine details for the championship coming up in around 1
1/2 weeks. This year's field includes Stanford University (host), City College
of San Francisco (Northern California Division champion), University of
California at Los Angeles (Southern California Division champion), Columbia
University (New York City Division champion), Cornell University (Upstate New
York Division champion), the University of Pennsylvania (Mid-Atlantic Division
champion), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Midwest Division
champion), Duke University (Carolina Division champion), Virginia Polytechnic
Institute and State University (Virginia Division champion), the University of
Virginia (Virginia Division runner-up), Wesleyan University (New England
Division champion), Boston University (New England Division runner-up), Auburn
University (Georgia Division champion), the University of Florida (
Florida Division champion), the University of Indiana (Ohio-Indiana Division
champion), Texas Wesleyan University (Texas Division champion) and the
University of Southern Mississippi (Dixie Division champion). All 17 teams with
the exception of the Univ. of Indiana are expected to show up. Teams are flying
in from all over the country and 8 or more of the teams are having their
expenses fully paid or at least 1/2 paid by their schools. Therefore, again, in
the future 2004-05 season, I wish all clubs continued success and use what our
league can offer you to bring more institutional support (financally and
recognition-wise) to your own clubs! NCTTA cannot do it without its constituent
clubs. On the other hand, the clubs can achieve greater success once they know
how to bring our league into their own negotiations with their schools'
administrators.
Sincerely,
Jack
