Hello all, (College students, faculty advisors, working professionals, alumni, EVERYONE!)

Ever wondered how your school has a chance to play another school 1000 miles away?  Or why your school doesn't offer a table tennis scholarship but should! For those interested in serving on the NCTTA board and being involved with the groundfloor operations of College Table Tennis, here is a chance for you! The NCTTA board is looking to fill the HISTORIAN position on the board as well as several committee chairs and committee member positions.

1) If you are interested in the Historian position please read our bylaws about what that consists of http://www.nctta.org/doc/NCTTA_Bylaws.pdf and then send an email to info@... by June 22nd with a statement of intent that includes your name, experience in Table Tennis playing or otherwise and what you do for a living (student, working, whatever). This is a 1 year term and would require a person to be available for meetings once a month and know how to check an email daily.

2) Listed below here are committees that need chairs and members to take part in them. Committee work is especially exciting since one gets to be involved in the real world end product like Women's College Table Tennis, Marketing, and media relations to name a few. Please send an email to info@... with your name, experience in Table Tennis playing or otherwise and what you do for a living (student, working, whatever).

Below are the committees some with chairs already, most not and some descriptions, of course each committee can create their own agenda, plan, etc.

 

  1. Media Relations: Chair- (vacant)

            Members: needed

a) Collect and create a Curriculum Vitae for the NCTTA to include any publications, internet links, paper copies of newspaper interviews or other sources of media (TV, radio which can be listed as a bibliographical reference)

b) Damage control: obtain copy of college Table Tennis club newspaper advertisement, interview, etc. and write and to media forum to make sure that NCTTA

c) Help Create monthly newsletter

d) Assist Public Relations Director with Monthly player reports and club reports to go on website

 

  1. Marketing: Chair-Mike McFarland marketing@...

Members: needed

a) Promotional project-with AAU Olympics and any outside sport organization or tournament that has an impact on College Athletics or future College Table Tennis

b) Create format for replication of posters for every division for divisional meets or create concept of any other advertisement type medium

c) Update prospectus with advisory help from board

 

     3. Financial/Budget: Chair- David Delvecchio treasurer@...

Members: needed

a)      Work on tentative Budget with costs, expenses, income all broken down

b)      Approve expenses from officers

  

     4. Women in College Table Tennis: Chair- (vacant)

Members: needed 

a) Identify the issues that prevent female participation in College TT and address them with possible considerations for program change

b) Create incentive laced ideas for program change to help encourage female table tennis athletes

c) Work with USATT/NCAA College TT committee on women's sports.

 

   5. Alumni Development/Collegiate Relations Chair- (vacant)

Members: needed

a) Create Database of Alumni list for donation purposes

b) Create brochure for standard donation fundraiser

c) Build relationship to club sports admin/Rec sports admin people of current or active NCTTA clubs 

 

       6.  Audit Discipline & Rules: Chair- (vacant)

Members: needed

a) To discipline NCTTA members, board members, officers in the event of wrong doing

b) To protect and regulate the standards, integrity of current NCTTA policies and league rules

c) To deal with everyday ethical problems

d) With Rules committee deal with any interpretations of NCTTA rules/bylaws

e) Must interpret ambiguous NCTTA rules during problem times

f) report to executive board with suggestions on how current rules can be improved.

 

      7.  Website Development: Chair- (vacant)

Members: needed

a)      Bring in new ideas in the web design world

b)      Keep the website up to date with current web interface trends

 

     8.  Coach's Committee: Chair- (vacant)

        Members: needed

a)      will select the World University games coach for the US College Team

b)      Will begin to create the infrastructure for a NCTTA Coach's Association that will eventually govern College Table Tennis Coaches.

c)   Will involve more coaches in sport club, student activities group culture

 

   9.   World University Games Committee: Chair- (vacant)

                        Members: needed

a)      Coordinate with USATT on policies and procedures concerned with the Institutional support of the US College team to the World Games

b)      Coordination of NCTTA efforts to manage and integrate policies so that the US College team is able to prosper

 

   10.   Disabled Committee Chair: Chair-  (vacant)

                Members: (needed)

                a) to conduct a feasibility study on Collegiate Disabled players and if an NCTTA         event is warranted and if so what are the logistics involved with this event.
