Hey gang:

Bethany Davis has put together a 208 km permanent in Piercetown, SC.  You can find a little info on it on the RUSA website under Permanent Search.  I am thinking about doing it the first, second or third weekend in October.  Anybody interested?  She would like to ride it with us. I’m going for the R12 award and right now, I’m at R6.

I rode Mike Dayton’s lake permanent last weekend—209 km on a lollipop course up to Oxford and then around Kerr Lake and over the dam.  It was a nice ride and I’m sure it will be beautiful next month when the leaves are changing. It’s mostly flat with a few smallish hills until somewhere after Boydton and then there are a few more and slightly longer hills—nothing to worry about really, but a very pleasant and well laid out course with not much traffic and mostly good roads.  Mike has thrown in a couple of informational controls making it a little different than our usual brevets.  Lots of county lines and two state line crossings for possible sprints.

Let me know if you’re interested in the SC permanent.  Maybe a few of us could ride down together.

Jerry
