I have to agree with the cops who ticketed the bicyclists.  We bicyclists always expect to have the right to the road just as a motorist.  That obligates us to act accordingly.  My experience with randonneurs has shown that they ride legally and appropriately.  The more casual bicyclists, such as those who ride these charity events, do not seem to be very good bicyclists in general yet have a sense of entitlement that makes them think they can run stop signs.  I appreciate that they were ticketed.  It makes the roads safer for those of us who ride more and much longer distances.
