Greetings, NC Rando riders:

Several of us are planning a December 200K permanent, Dec. 13. Please join us. We'll be riding John B's permanent, which I believe starts/ends in Whitsett (the shopping center at Exit 135, Rock Creek Dairy Road, off I-40/I-85). This will be an especially good choice for folks in the middle part of the state.

John's Description: When I was scoping out the route, I intentionally sought out slower, secondary roads that were in decent shape and tried to avoid the roads with higher traffic as much as possible...  The route is pretty hilly, but the first leg of the route eases you into it gradually with a few nice rollers to get you warmed up. Most of the climbing is concentrated between Mayodan and Danbury, starting with a nice climb right after leaving the first control in Mayodan.... The Danbury General Store at the turn-around is a true "general" store, catering to campers, etc., and should have everything anybody might need including a free air-hose outside.
