1) I've heard a rumor that 3 North Carolina randonneurs will soon be
honored with R-5000 medals. You know who you are. Congratulations!

2) I've submitted permanent results for the Showdown at Black Creek
permanent on Oct. 18. Thanks once again to all nine riders for making
that such a fun event.

3) Remember when we suggested to Matt Settle that he bring the
Shenandoah event into North Carolina? It looks like that might happen.
I'll be helping scout roads this Saturday near Mt. Airy, and that town
may replace Fancy Gap as an overnight control. If anyone is interested
in joining the fun, please email off list. The plan is to do 60-70
miles, maybe less. Also, if anyone is familiar with the side roads
that head north from Mt. Airy into Virginia, please drop me a note.

4) I'm planning a 200K permanent ride on Dec. 13, and a few others
have expressed interest. Ya'll come on and join us. No route has been
chosen yet, so details will follow.
