Just a reminder to everyone that Sam Chin's next NC workshop is
scheduled for March 25-26, 2006. The workshop webpage is at
http://www.duke.edu/~jk17/tjq/iliqchuan . The workshop description
and flyer will be posted as soon as we get word back from Sam. Please
pass on the word.
Also, out of curiosity, is anyone planning on going to the 4-day
intensive workshop in NY next month (Feb. 17-20)?
See you then - Hilton.

Hi all,
sorry for the late notice, but due to various holiday scheduling
conflicts, we are not having practice this wednesday (12/28) or next
week (01/04). Our next practice will be (01/11).
Thanks, and I hope you all are enjoying the break.

Hi all,
Just a reminder that there's no ILiqChuan practice next Wednesday
(Nov. 23rd) since most of us will be either traveling or preparing for
gorging on tukeys, turduckens, tofurkeys, and other nap-inducing
protein products.
Hi Johnny,
How are you ?
Is it possible for you to send me a copy of the VCD
asap ? or could you put the image up somewhere where i
could download.
Thanks.
Lipyeow.

Hey guys,
Remember we talked about somekind of intensive training during the
last workshop? Well Sifu managed to put one together next Feb. Please
consider flying up to NY. If you bring your sleeping bags, Sifu can
host you in his basement. I might be able to host 1-2 persons too.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that I have the VCD of the Russian
ILiqChuan group that Sifu left with us. I'm planning on bringing
copies to practice tonight. Just let me know if you need a copy so I
know how many copies to make.
Hi all,
Sorry for the late notice on this, but as of this past Wednesday we
are cancelling the Sunday practice from now on. Wednesday practice
will continue to be held at Steve's dojo at around 8:15. If you get
there early we'll be warming up in the back.
And a quick reminder that the next workshop is exactly 2 months away.
So get practicing!
Thanks,
Ben
(I'll have the registration and flyer information for the workshop up
by the end of this week and will send out a link to it at that time)
Hi All,
Due to upcoming out of state trips by some combination of Johnny, me, and
Steve - we are postponing I liq Chuan practice for the next two weeks.
Our next practice will be Wednesday July 6th, when we will resume our
regular practice.
Ben
Hey Guys,
On Saturday I showed Gabe, Ben & Johnny some stuff on
1) the waving exercise -- the loop and the opening/closing of the wrists
2) spinning hands -- the pull (dantian/absorb) and push
(mingmen/project) cycle, hence forming the 6 directional energies
(N S E W + pull/push). Both person pull at the same time + both person
push at the same time.
Be sure to ask them to show you.
Sifu has also approved Sep 9-11 as tentative workshop dates.
Lipyeow
Hi All,
Sunday practice will not be held at Open Sky on Memorial Day weekend,
5/28/05, since Steve and I are both out of town. If people still want
to get together, now would be a good time to decide on a venue. See
y'all Wednesday!
Gabe
Hello Guys,

Actually I've heard from two people who can't do it the first weekend due
to labor day.
Will you be able to do it if it's the second weekend? should I open up
the third weekend to everyone?

Ben,
I would prefer the first weekend in September because there will be
less chance of conflicts with other seminars, I hope. By the way, It
was me who had a hard time with the first weekend when we were
considering having the seminar in the Open Sky Aikido Dojo in
Hillsborough but that had to do with our scheduling of classes in our
school around the seminar.

Last night at practice we all talked about shooting for either of the
first two
weekends in September for the next Sam Chin workshop.
Please let me know ASAP if either of these weekends don't work for you.
Thanks,
Ben
Hi All,
The dojo will be in use this sunday for an Aikido seminar. There is a
big field outside my house that I'd like to offer as a substitute
venue, provided the weather cooperates. I live at 667 Erwin Rd. (This
is old erwin, inbetween Durham and Chapel Hill.) A map can be found at:
http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?addr=667+erwin+rd.&csz=durham%
2C+nc&country=us&new=1&name=&qty=
It's right after the New Hope Creek bridge on the right if you're
coming from Durham. There's a giant mailbox with flames painted on it,
so you can't miss it. If anyone has a better location in mind (indoors
in case of rain, for example,) let's hear it. Otherwise, I'll plan for
this Sunday at my place.
Gabe
Hi everyone, I just wanted to send out a reminder of our latest
practice schedule. Right now, study group meetings are at 8:30 pm
Wednesdays (until about 10) and 10:00 am Sundays (until about 12:30).
We should watch out on Sundays and give up the mat for people coming
in to warm up...
See y'all tomorrow morning!
Gabe
Hey Everybody!
I have e-mailed Sifu Chin about a follow up workshop in September just to ask
how it fit into his schedule, no definites yet as all votes have not been
casted. If any of you have a preferred weekend in Sepetember please let me
know. Or, if any part of the group absolutely does not want to do September
please let me know. I will be glad to arrange with Sifu Chin.
How about we spend some of Wed. practice time discussing the workshop and
promotions thereof?
take care,
Al
