Checking out his site, Rob Boys lists a few free
agents (<a href=http://www.icewind.net/hockey/freeagent.htm
target=new>http://www.icewind.net/hockey/freeagent.htm</a>)
which he feels would be good pickups for the Predators.
If nobody minds, I'll narrow down the list some
more...<br><br>RW Marko Tuomainen (Los Angeles) - I picked him to
go in the expansion draft. I didn't follow the draft
too closely, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Kings
made a few deals with Columbus and/or Minnesota to
protect Tuomainen (in the hopes of resigning him). I
really like this guy...<br><br>C Joel Prpic (Boston) -
At 6'7", this guy would almost single-handedly make
the Predators a "big" team. ;-) After checking him
out further at Hockey's Future
(<a href=http://hockeysfuture.com/Bruins/Joel_Prpic.html
target=new>http://hockeysfuture.com/Bruins/Joel_Prpic.html</a>), Prpic looks
mobile enough to keep up with
Nashville's speed... If Nashville did pick him up, I'd expect
him to play the majority of 2000-2001 in IHL
Milwaukee, before stealing a spot on the Predators from one
of the smaller two-way forwards...<br><br>Defensemen
Stuart Malgunas (Calgary) and Rich Brennan (Los Angeles)
- I was very disappointed when Calgary stole
Malgunas away before he got a chance to play with
Nashville, so I would be quite pleased if they decided to
pick him up again... If the Predators could only pick
one of these defensemen, I actually take Brennan, who
had a great season with the AHL Lowell Lock Monsters
in 1999-2000...
