After last night's pre-season game (NAS 4 STL 3), Randy Robitaille
may have the edge over Kris Beech, for the moment. I really don't
think Yanic Perreault will make the team, despite the fact that I
was a booster of the team picking him up. (Of course, that was
before they picked up all those other centers.)
As for the opening day, here's my forward line-up...
Paul Kariya - David Legwand - Scott Hartnell
Martin Erat - Greg Johnson - Steve Sullivan
Scott Hall - Randy Robitaille - Scott Walker
Darcy Hordichuk - Scott Nichol - Jeremy Stevenson
Hartnell, after last season, and based on the way he's been playing
in training camp, deserves to be on at least the second line.
There's been talk of using Johnson more offensively. Well, why not
have him center two scoring threats like Erat and Sullivan. And Hall
and Walker can both score, and can make up for any of Robitaille's
shortcomings. We'd get consistent scoring from three lines.
