Re: Crowded Roster

I neglected to consider the eventual return of Scott Hartnell and
Rem Murray in my analysis of the forward lines. That said, The
Tennessean reported today that Coach Trotz doesn't expect Murray to
return this season. :-(

So, with Murray gone, Hartnell back to health and Wyatt Smith likely
returned to AHL Milwaukee, we'll have 13 forwards on the roster
going into the playoffs...

Steve Sullivan / David Legwand / Scott Walker
Andreas Johansson / Greg Johnson / Adam Hall
Martin Erat / Denis Arkhipov / Vladimir Orszagh
Jeremy Stevenson / Sergei Zholtok / Jordin Tootoo

extra: Jim McKenzie

Of course, those lines are just a guess, as is McKenzie's
designation as the extra man up front. I liked Hall when he played
with Johnson, with either Johansson or Stevenson on the left. The
Tennessean has mentioned Zholtok pushing Arkhipov down another line.

The extra man position could just as easily go to Stevenson or
Tootoo, or even Arkhipov, Erat and Hall, depending on how these guys
look going into the playoffs, how well each permanent line is
playing as a unit, and what kind of play we'll need against our
first round opponents.

Anyhoo...

I agree with most of your assessment except that Arkipov could be the odd man out. He seems to be mistake-prone, not willing to take a hit or be physical and...
