According to The Tennessean, the following players will become
unrestricted free-agents if not offered qualifying offers - Kimmo
Timonen, Andy Delmore, Andreas Johansson, Rem Murray, Denis
Pederson, Domenic Pittis, Todd Warriner, Clarke Wilm and Vitali
Yachmenev. (They also listed Mark Eaton, but he's been re-signed.)
Re-signing Timonen is a must. Along with Karlis Skrastins, Timonen
is, IMO, the core of the team's defense. I'd also consider Delmore
and Johansson to be priority signings.
Based on his pre-season play, Pederson was looking to be a good goal-
scorer for us. Unfortunately, he never seemed to find his groove
with the team, before his injury 12 games in or after his return.
Rem Murray, Vitali Yachmenev and Clarke Wilm played consistently
well for us, but didn't stand out in any way. Murray is probably
more of a disappointment in that respect. I'd hate to see Yachmenev
move on after five decent years with the team.
Despite missing most of the season with injuries, Pittis was a point
a game player in Milwaukee. I'd like to see him play a full season
in the AHL before letting him go. We didn't see enough of Warriner
to get much of a feel for him.
Anyhoo...
