Greetings NATS,
Last night I had the opportunity to swim in the Miromar Lake at FGCU
with the Swim Florida branch located at FGCU. It was awesome! We
did about a 300 yard swim followed by a 300 yard beach run repeated
ten times. After looking at the facility and surroundings, there
seems to be endless possiblities for great training at FGCU. The
Swim Florida branch there will continue this type of training every
Thursday at 5 pm through the month of May. Naples Area Triathletes
are invited, so please join them if your schedule permits. As
always, contact me if you have any questions.
The Open Water Festival will be held at Ft. Myers Beach from May 30
through June 2. Lynn Hill Park is the central location for all
events. The festival is organized by Swim Florida. Norris swimmers
belong to this team. Two or three oppotunities to compete are
available to triathletes. On Friday, May 30 at 7:00 pm the festival
will host an aquathon. This is a one mile beach run, followed by a
400 yard Gulf swim, and ending with another one mile beach run.
(Steven you would be unbeatable at this.) On Saturday, May 31 at
12:00 is the Master's Mile. You must be a registered masters
swimmer to compete in this event. Finally, on Saturday, May 31 at
7:00 pm there is the Sunset Dash for Cash. This is a one mile swim
that is open to anyone. For more information or to register for the
Open Water Festival visit www.openwaterfestival.org or see the link
I placed under links on this group.
Thanks and keep training hard.
Tim
