Hello NATS,
I have a "rookie" question for the group:
The more I read as I train for someday "hopefully" doing an Ironman, I see information reminding us to establish and practice our Nutrition & Hydration schedules for Ironman distance events. They talk about a week out from an event leading up to race day. The recommendations mentions solid foods early on the bike and then transition to more easily digestible foods nearing the end of the bike and going into/through the marathon since burning fats gives way to burning glycogen at some point (later the better). My wife has a marathon schedule that was provided to her at the San Diego Marathon that lays out the water/GU2/water type scheduling along with a nutrition intake (powerbars, GU, sodium tablets) schedule based on where aid stations were located throughout that event. Does anyone have a schedule similiar to this I can see for 1/2 IM and IM events? I realize everyone's nutritional needs are different, however I was hoping to get a baseline to start with and then personalize it from that point.
Thanks-You are a classy group of individuals.
