If this helps,

You can do the basic stuff first such as exhaust, air
filter, bigger frontmount is necessary especially when
you upgrade your turbo, wastgate (external) helps to
not overboost, boost controller for that extra kick
(digital or manual) depending on how much you have to
spend and what stage you are at with modifying your
car. There is an order to do the bits and pieces
above as getting on thing leads to the next step.

After getting all those bits and pieces done above you
can then start building to more serious stuff like the
internals. Thats if you want to do bit by bit if you
want to spend big money well thats another story.

Hope this helps

you may well hold the most amount of miles on an OEM clutch.

I would use and recommend a Helix 6-padel clutch. Great for the days when you
need to trounce that 911, and even good for running around a lot. Pedal feels
meety, but is not a 'switch' to use. You can use a stock or Mitsubishi
Ralliart Pressure plate, and you'll be good to go.

I had the Helix in my evo 5 GSr, and the Evo 5 Rally car. The clutch in the
rally car got over 150 full throttle starts without a wimper, I only replaced
it because I wanted to be sure for the new season. It had already been in
there for almost 3 years of abuse.

New to the group, and would appreciate some advice from other Evo 6
owners. I run an EVO 6 GSR 3 and a half years old.

My clutch has started to slip a little, to the point at which I can
no longer accelerate hard in 4th gear! Clearly I need to sort this,
but I see from other sites that advice is given to consider a
different manufacturer for the clutch which can take more wear and
tear.

Therefore I have a couple of questions please:

1. Would you recommend going for a different clutch, and if so which
brand/type would you go for? What are the benefits of this?

2. What should I expect to pay for this, and for fitting? How does
this compare to the standard part recommended by Mitsubishi?

3. Would you recommend I get this work done at a Mitsubishi dealer,
or an alternative non-official company?

4. Any suggestions for where I should get it fitted (if not through
the dealer network) as I am based in the Guildford area?

By the way, do I hold the record for the most number of miles on the
original clutch? 55,800 so far!

yea you lose pressure, but you get that ppphhhsssshhheeeewwwww sound. if you
don't wanna lose pressure you can always opt for a cbv (compressor bypass valve)
which recirculates most of the airflow as opposed to losing it all to the
atmosphere. no trademark bov sound though

Please don't use both of them. It will lose power due

standard or change to TOMEI B.O.V. , it look the same

I had the same problem, but after the consultations with my friends from
VIVIDRACING I've decided to go with the HKS which seems to be the best solution.
Visit there web site on www.vividracing.com and look for their project EVO 8.
They used the same HKS BOV.
