New developments…We will be giving away prizes from Healthy Habits http://healthyhabitsqc.com and Donnie’s Indoor Cycling Experience http://dicetraining.com for the roller races.  The Challenge for the days roller races will be a little different from Steve’s for Sunday race in Ames is this…$50 to the first woman under 6 minutes and to the first man under 5 minutes, plus the normal prizes as stated on the race flyer.  Now I know that these seem impossible…but that’s why it is a CHALLENGE!!  Here are the current times courtesy of Steve Lauber…

The usual $5 in lottery tickets (potentially for MILLIONS) for each heat winner will be given out for the CompuTrainer races and the $25 gas card challenge will go to one winner who scores the lowest time under 24:30 minutes.  The Saturday and Sunday morning CompuTrainer races will be on the National Qualifier CompuTrainer 10 mile course with the results uploaded to the National Database for rankings within ALL CompuTrainer participants WORLD WIDE!!!  Come in and find out where you stack up with the rest of the country in age, weight, and category.  Ever wanted to see how you compare with people in other parts of the country…now you can!  Check out the course profile and you can LITERALLY come and race with the best!  The weather is going to be clear and cold…but NO ICE or SNOW!  That means good roads for travel…so I hope to see ALL of the Teams in the MidWest!

Well football seasons finally over and the Bears had a horrible game…now it’s on to bike racing!  As GPickle stated, “I urge roller race promoters across the state to up their game and make roller racing working-mans entertainment again while at the same time not asking me to help!”  Hey Steve…can ya help?  As I jest, we are having the 2nd event at Donnie’s Indoor Cycling Experience in conjunction with the DICE team and the DMOS team with Randy Catron.  It won’t be London circa 1950, but it will be Moline sans the present and a lot of fun.  We will have me, the DJ, spinning tunes and you can dance if ya want, TV’s showing old and new bicycle racing and a few extras.  There will be CompuTrainer racing on the 8-up MultiRider Station with 8 people racing on a selected course to be determined by Thursday night.  The racing starts at 9am and will be each hour until Noon when Greg Harper and the Harper/Melon City team brings his Kreitler alloy rollers with the Killer Headwind Fan and flywheel for a two-up format, 2 mile TT on a 2% grade.  There will also be the infamous Log Rollers presented by none other than Rick Paulos himself for a timed 4 minute race to see who can cover the most distance.  Will it be Lee V on the road bike, Tater on Pugsly, Bruce on a Cross bike or Huntsberger on a Mountain bike?  Come and enjoy the spectacle that is Roller Racing.  And for those not up for racing on the rollers, log or regular, I will also have the 2-up, 3D CompuTrainer going for a flat 3 mile all out TT.  Can you match Pete Sharis’ 470 watt output?  Come and see if you can!  Pringles can even be supplied…since three people have already puked with their supreme ALL OUT efforts!  Bring your teams, bring your bikes and be prepared for a day of fun racing in all kinds of formats.  The CycleOps Pro 300PT will be provided for your warm-up enjoyment on the best Spin bikes in the industry!  Call or e-mail now to reserve your spot!  More detail will be provided as the week goes on…and check my web site for updated info!  Who’s the fastest?  You decide….
