NEW RACER CLINIC AND WORLD BICYCLE RELIEF TEAM CHALLENGE ADDED TO
BURNHAM RACING'S SPRING SUPER CRITERIUM LINEUP

CHICAGO, ILL. – Burnham Racing is proud to announce the addition of
two exciting new features to the Spring Super Criterium, a USA
Cycling-sanctioned bike race that will debut on Sunday, April 6 at
the Blackhawk Farms Raceway in South Beloit, Ill. A full schedule
of racing will now be preceded by an introductory New Racer Clinic,
while the competitive action itself will be ramped up by the
addition of the World Bicycle Relief Team Challenge.

The New Racer Clinic will be hosted by the Illinois Cycling
Association (ICA), in conjunction with the XXX Racing-AthletiCo
Safety Task Force. Randy Warren, coach of the XXX Racing-AthletiCo
cycling program, and certified staff will instruct riders on key
skills, enabling cyclists to compete safely in the Spring Super
Criterium and throughout the year. Topics will include an
introduction to basic criterium survival and safety, emergency
stopping, balance drills and other race safety concerns. The New
Racer Clinic will be held from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. and all new racers,
including USAC category 4 women, category 4 and 5 men and those with
one-day licenses are encouraged to participate. The New Racer Clinic
is free and a non-USAC sanctioned event, so all are welcome to
attend.

The World Bicycle Relief Team Challenge is a unique addition to race
day that will reward the Spring Super Criterium's most well-rounded
program while benefiting a noteworthy cause. Racers placing in each
of the Spring Super Criterium's 10 events and intra-race prime laps
will score points for their respective teams. All races will be
scored, regardless of field size, but extra points will be awarded
to the women's and junior's categories. Following the criterium, the
cumulative points will be determined and Burnham Racing will donate
a portion of the event's proceeds to World Bicycle Relief in the
name of the winning team. An Illinois-based 501(c)(3) organization,
World Bicycle Relief strives to empower individuals, their families,
and their communities in disaster and poverty-stricken countries
through the power of bicycles. Information about WBR will be
available at the Spring Super Criterium and participants are
encouraged to learn more about the cause and to consider
contributing their own tax-deductible donations. For more
information, visit www.worldbicyclerelief.org.

"The Team Challenge will promote competition and encourage team
interest and spirit across all of the categories, while at the same
time raising funds for a worthy cause that all of us as cyclists
should be proud to support," said Race Director Jason Knauff. "No
other race in the Midwest supports this format of team interaction
and it will be very exciting to see how the competition plays out."

Registration for the Burnham Racing Spring Super Criterium is online
at www.bikereg.com. Competitors will need to be licensed members of
USA Cycling. Both existing license renewals and one-day licenses
will be available on race day. For more information about the
Criterium, visit www.burnhamracing.org.
