My thought was in wind of something less than 10 mph the slowdown
effect of the 5 cm extra width of the III RD would be enough to more
than offset the speedup effect of 8 cm additional waterline length of
the III RD compared with my older Equipe XR.

If I'm correct, perhaps for someone at 60K (about 145 lb) or less the
XR will always be faster and for someone at 90K (about 200 lb) or
above the III RD will always be faster. But at some weight
in-between, where I am, the XR is faster up to a particular low wind
speed. Above that speed the III RD would be faster until just before
both become uncontrollable.

I love longboards and cheer for the current revival.
