Arnie has been working hard on his event, the Tour da Croix. Here is
an update:

Aug 22-24

Friday evening there will be a Happy hour with hors d'oeurves followed
by a beer presentation an sampling from the Leinie's Lodge. I believe
that he said something about models also. I'm more interested in the
beer myself.

For Saturday he has arranged for plenty of support watercraft and
several early exit points off the river. If conditions are not good
enough to make the whole trip as planned, we will select another
finish point.

Saturday evening there is the all you can eat prime rib buffet at The
Point where we will also have the awards ceremony.

The winner of the race will get a special yellow shirt in honor of the
yellow jersey in the Tour de France. The racer with the longest GPS
track will be the winner of the "Expedition" award and will get a
Timex Expedition watch.

The area has lots of other things to do if you should bring your
family with you. There are parks on the river, the best ice cream in
Afton, and Prescott is not far from the Mall of America.

All in all this event is meant to be fun. Check out the registration
