Great point Woody. I don't fault Tino for not supporting Open, as
he has a great event with Formula keeping him busy. Nor do I fault
Steve with his decision to consider Kona 'the' Open fleet for USW
NRT, as he is a Formula sailer who doesn't sail or understand Open
but donates his time to run the NRT. Thus, my point in the meeting
the other night, we need to actively participate in shaping what
Open means because it is important to us - and that means things
like promoting it through articles, events, etc...

longboard/hybrid group should be selling ourselves better to the
windsurfing magazines of the world to let them know about the
longboard racing scene that is alive and well in the Midwest,
organized by MOWIND. Maybe after each MOWIND event, someone with
good writing skills should send a report including pictures to
the 'magazines'. Maybe then they'll start publishing stories about
longboards, and our great inland lakes where we windsurf most of the
time.
