Hmmm... frigid, grueling, demanding race.  Hey Wendi, let's do it!  LOL :)

I'm too chicken for the "frigid", "grueling", and "demanding" race; sounds like a real character builder.
Escape to Bermuda sounds like a more appealing challenge to me.  Do you think they serve Mai Tais in the beer tent?

DeeAnn and Gina,
Thanks so much for doing the heart rate testing today.  It was fun and I'm really excited to work in Zone 2!

I can do the bike test on a Monday or a Wednesday, at 9 am.

One of my personal favorite races!  Check it out and enter the registration lottery!  Maybe you will get lucky!
I have done this race 4 times, 2003-2006, each year, same course - totally different race conditions!  My primary goal when entering this race back in 2003 was to become a better swimmer and get over my anxiety of open water swimming!!!  Goals accomplished!  I learned, in the 5 months of swim training prior, to love swimming and love swim practice (masters).  As far as open water anxiety.... if you can jump off a perfectly functioning boat into 55 degree water with white caps and swim 1.5 miles to shore with a crazy current, any other open water swim is a cake walk!
Not to mention, a fabulously hilly bike ride and a most scenic and challenging 8 mile run course!
