Hi! I'm new to the group, and I've been an Expo fan since 1989. I am
from West-Central Florida, so people found it interesting when they
found that I rooted for a far away team. I've been through it all since
then; the collapse of 1989, the strike of 1994 (when we would have been
World Champs!), and the trading away of top-notch talent that got too
pricey. When the team moved to D.C., I remain a fan and have both Expo
and National stuff displayed in my house, along with my #2 team, the
Devil Rays. My question to y'all is since the Expos became the
Nationals, are you still rooting for them? If not, which team did you
adopt?

Hi there,
How's it going? :-)
I just thought some of you might be interested to know, that there
is this great sports site that recently got started a few months ago
(about 1 year old to be exact), who are looking for some
knowledgeable posters, to help fill the void. It's a really friendly
community, and the people who are behind site, are extremely

Hi,
I am a Dodger fan, but I am also a big Frank Robinson Fan. I have
also had a special fondness for the Expos over the years. My Pastor
is a long time Red's Fan and a longtime Frank Robinson Fan. He has
been a real blessing these past few months. I have been recovering
from a broken arm, and he was very supportive during the this time.
I tried E-mailing the Expos Web-Site to try to contact frank
Robinson, but got no response. I thought something from frank
Robinson to my Pastor would be a neat thank you gift. Anyone have
any ideas on better way to contact him. their 899 number is not on
line.
I appreciate the help.

EXPOS MAKE A TRADE WITH THE NEW YORK YANKEES
ACQUIRE NICK JOHNSON, JUAN RIVERA and RANDY CHOATE
The Montreal Expos on Thursday traded right-handed pitcher
Javier Vazquez to the New York Yankees for first baseman
Nick Johnson, outfielder Juan Rivera and left-hander Randy
Choate.
Johnson, who hit .284 with 15 home runs and 47 RBIs last
season fills a big hole in the Expos' lineup. Rivera was in
57 games for the Bronx Bombers and hit .266 with seven home
runs and 26 RBIs and will compete for a starting position
in the outfield.

1- The Expos have never announced that they would be moving. There is
a committee set up by Major League Baseball looking at a "permanent
solution" to the Expos, since the former owner, Jeffrey Loria, sold
the team to the other 29 baseball owners in 2001, in order to buy the
Florida Marlins. They have not yet decided on a permanent solution.
This year, of course, they have played 22 "home" games in Puerto Rico.
2- A good source for Expos attendance is
www.canoe.com/Baseball/attendance.html
3-Best players: Vladimir Guerrero, National League MVP for the month
of August
Jose Vidro, second baseman
Livan Hernandez, pitcher
Best players ever:
Hall of Famer Gary Carter
Andre Dawson
Tim Raines
Dennis Martinez (who pitched a perfect game)
4- The Expos have nevere been to the World Series. They won the
National League East in 1981 but lost to the Dodgers in the NLCS.
In 1994, the Expos were in first place in the National League, when
the season was cancelled due to a strike. The Expos then sold off
their best players and have had attendance problems, bad onwership,
and weak teams ever since.

Hey everyone! I'm new to the group. I'm writing an article about how
the Expos MIGHT be moving to DC for my school paper and I've been
looking on the net for information about the Expos and it's
impossible to get my questions answers. I thought it would be easier
to ask fan's, so here I am. If you know of any good sites that could
help me or you know the answers of my questions you would be a huge
help!
1-When did they announce that the expos would be moving? Why?
2-Attandence stats
3-Good players (now and in the past)
4-Ever been to the World Series and won?
5-any other interesting facts...
Thanks ahead of time if you can help!
