** Former world number one Monica Seles impressed with skills of
young kiwi Marina Erakovic after their practice session **
One of the all-time greats appears impressed with New Zealand's
rising young tennis star.
16-year-old Marina Erakovic had a hit up with former world number one
Monica Seles on Monday morning.
Seles is here for exhibition matches against another great Martina
Navratilova.
She is quite taken with the young kiwi's ability.
Seles says its great to see a player from New Zealand making such
strides and she hopes Erakovic will stick with it because she has all
the attributes needed to make the top ten in the world.
She says Erakovic is at a very important phase of her development,
seems like a hard worker who is eager to learn and is in good hands
with her coach Chris Lewis.
Seles says Erakovic is aggressive with an all-court game, and can mix
up her backhand, alternating between a two-hander and a slice, which
is a big advantage.
Seles and Navratilova play in Auckland tomorrow night and
Christchurch on Thursday.
